Update:  The Government has agreed to pause the bill for further consultation. We extend our sincere thanks to the Minister and to everyone who has supported our cause. Lawmaking should always be an inclusive process, and we welcome this opportunity while standing ready to meet with the Minister at the earliest occasion. At the same time, we must emphasize that although we appreciate the pause, the need for substantive changes to the legislation remains.
